So here's
where I'll be putting my IF games, they'll be in their own stand-alone
executables, so all you need to play is right here.
The controls are fairly basic and
mostly obvious, but some people need
all the help they can get, so here's
a rundown:
-If
you want to move, just type the
direction you want to go (north,
south, east, west, northeast,
northwest, southeast, southwest, up,
down, in and out. You can also use
n, s, e, w, ne, nw, se, and sw for
direction if you'd like).
-To
inspect something you can type
either Look at or Examine
then the name of what you want to
inspect. Typing look by
itself will let you see the current
room description again. (Note: If an
object is transparent, you'll want
to use look through or if you
want to search an object you can use
look behind, look under, or
look inside/search if you want
to search inside a container
object.) There is a
difference between search objects
and simply looking at them, this is
important.
-If
you want to read something, simply
looking at it won't work, you must
use the read command.
-To
pick something up, you can type
either take or pick up
then the object name.
-To
place on or in something, type
put or place then the
object name and where you would like
to place it. (For example, put
note on bed) If you just want to
put the item on the ground, type
drop then the item.
-To
wear a clothing item, type put on
or wear then the clothing
item name. If you want to take it
off type take off then the
clothing item name. (For example,
put on gunbelt, take off
gunbelt)
-To
open or close an object, type
open or close then the
object name.
-To
unlock an object, as long as you
have the appropriate item, type
unlock then the object, this is
different from open or
close.
-If
you want to eat something, type
eat then the food item.
-Type
inventory at any time to see
what you're carrying.
That should be everything, I'm sure
if I've forgotten something you can
figure it out yourself.
